Former Tottenham and Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino has been appointed head coach of Paris St-Germain.

What current projects are you working on?

My latest album is titled Roll It and I am very passionate about it because I put a lot into it. My fans know that I always give them the best and this one is not different.

How would you describe your style of music?

I would describe my style of music as ‘repertiore’. I largely perform tracks recorded by other artistes.

What is the story behind your stage name?

It is incontestable that God is awesome. And, I know that whoever bears that name with God would also prosper. That is why I incorporated it into my stage name. Besides, my music is awesome too.

What are the highlights of your career?

I always follow my dreams diligently to achieve great results, so I believe that every moment of my music career is a highlight. It takes a lot of hard work to be a successful musician, so one must constantly improve on one’s craft.

What are the common challenges you face in your career and how do you overcome them?

It is quite difficult for a musician to become popular and successful. It takes a lot of resources such as finances, time and personal effort. However, when one comes to the limelight, one can be said to have overcome, though it is also tough staying up there. Basically, challenges never end, especially when one is ‘chasing’ a good thing.

What is the most memorable performance of your career?

I have had many notable performances. Whenever I am going to perform, I consciously make efforts to make it the best and surpass my past exploits. However, one time that stands out and made me so happy was the day I performed for wealthy businessman and socialite, Chief Rasaq Okoya, in his estate. At that occasion, I met so many top dignitaries such as the richest black man in the world, Aliko Dangote; a former Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode; and another billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola.

What are some of the problems that come with maintaining a band?

To cope with one’s band members, one has to exercise al ot patience. That is because one would meet different people with different characters.

Which do you regard as your biggest song?

All my songs hold special places in my heart. However, I consider, Adunre Omo Elede, to be my biggest song.

Which song was the most challenging for you to make?

That would be my second album, Kin Kin Kini. It was quite taxing to make but I am happy that it eventually came out well.

Have you ever been tempted to change from juju music to hip hop or other genres?

Yes, I actually do. That is because hip hop artistes perform for only short periods and get paid huge amounts of money. Really, the temptation is always there but I love what I do.

What are your short-terms and long-term goals for your career?

I believe God knows what is best for me. However, I pray to be relevant forever.

These days, youths seem to prefer hip hop music instead of juju. What do you think this portends for the future of juju?

That is because hip hop artistes make ‘quick’ money. As far as I am concerned, I have restructured my own brand of juju music. That is why my band does ‘repertoire’, not just juju music in its basic form.

Is there cooperation among juju artistes?

Yes, I believe there is.

Who are your role models/admirers/mentors?

The musicians I really admire are the late American entertainer, Michael Jackson, and juju music legend, King Sunny Ade.

What changes would you like to see in the music industry generally?

I would want the so-called musicians should give us evergreen music, good lyrics, and reasonable songs.

Apart from music, what are your other interests?

I love acting, boxing and dancing.

How do you unwind?

I unwind by sleeping. That is my best form of relaxation when I am not working.

How do you like to dress?

I love putting on hats, long shirts and long shoes.
